ABOUT THE ARTIST
Betsy Drake is a local Pacific Northwest Artist who has many art mediums of expertise. Her first love was working with clay, she studied ceramic art from 2nd grade through college. She also aquired a teaching certificate to teach K- 6 grade ceramics courses in 2011. I am looking forward to working with children to help bring out their inner creativity.
In 2000 she was given a glass torch and self-taught herself lampwork glass bead making and used her glass to make beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry. Once that was mastered, she began designing clothing for women, using recycled materials for a unique fashion statement. Throughout the years she also worked with leather, feathers, up-cycled steampunk art, jewelry, silver smithing, forging, crochet, knitting, and paper mache 3-D art & CO2 laser art.
My current medium(addiction) I am learning is stained glass. It has so many possibilities to tap into and make unique one of a kind pieces. I would like to consider teaching this art medium in the future.
In addition Betsy is one of the featured sculpting artist for GREENMAN STONE(.com) and her pieces can be found at many local garden centers on the West coast. Including the Mount Vernon CO-OP locally.
